Bustins Jeans, a historic brand. You just have to ask your parents, uncles or grandparents if they had ever bought jeans at Platja d’Aro, on the Costa Brava, and if they did, they will tell you all about it. But if they said they hadn’t, then keep reading…

Rosa and Albert Bustins were sister and brother, and children and grandchildren of tailors from Llagostera (Girona) who decided to set up in the textile industry in 1968, during the tourism boom on the Costa Brava; they opened up a small shop in the Galerías Neptuno 23 in Platja d’Aro. Albert was an admirer of American culture, their lifestyle and their dress style and, together with his sister, he started to design the jeans that were called BustinStock for over 50 years.

In the early 1970s, they opened their own tailoring workshop and designed many collections linked to the American western (country) style. In the mid 70s, they opened a large shop on the main avenue of Platja d'Aro, the STOCK, which until the end of 2020 has been the flagship of the brand.

During the 1980’s the brand expanded and they opened their own outlets in coastal towns such as Ibiza, Lloret de Mar, Roses and Benidorm. BustinSTOCK jeans also came to the Ramblas Avenue in Barcelona and to Madrid, with two shops – one in Alcalá St. and the other in Fuencarral St. Thus, BustinSTOCK jeans played a part in the Movida Madrileña musical and cultural movement.

Making the founders’ dream come true, the brand crossed the Atlantic and in the year 1990 a shop was set up in Los Angeles (7373 Melrose Avenue).

Globalisation and imported clothing brought the company to close most of its physical outlets, except for the ones in Roses and Platja d’Aro, where the stores were open until the end of 2020.

Now, after a brief hiatus, and with the generational change, BustinSTOCK has become Bustins Jeans and we are opening a shop on the internet and in our original premises in Galerías Neptuno! We have a new image but the same will as always: to manufacture denim clothing in an artisan and quality way with the latest trends in our workshop in Castell d'Aro and working with national suppliers.
